Vintage 2002: Red 13% Vol.
Soil: Old terrasse formed from marls and colluvial deposits classified as part of the " Gres de Montpellier" (Montpellier Sandstone).
Yield: 45 hl/hectare
Grape Varieties: 60% Syrah, 40 % Grenache
Vinification: Separated one grape variety after another with 4 week maceration for Syrah and 3 week maceration for Grenache. Matures in oak barrels for 12 months.
Tasting:
Color: intense purple with flashes of dark violet.
Bouquet: intense. Hint of licorice, cooked plums and vanilla.
Palate: Clean attack, flexible, hints of cooked fruit, woody, grilled, old leather, elegant and round.
Nice potential: should be decanted
May be served now or may be left to age for at least 5 years.
Serving Suggestions: Serve with dishes in sauce, cheese (Camembert, etc.), fresh goat cheese or game
